First off, the Duramax has a really solid cooling system. Anytime I finish a repair with one where the cooling system needs to be bled, it takes a couple good, hard pulls getting on the freeway just to get the thermostats to open, and even then there are times when I get back to the shop and the temp is still hovering around the 180 mark.
